William J. Makell Jr. is the founder of WJM Success Solutions, Inc. His business specializes in helping individuals and organizations achieve success by using his leadership skills honed while serving more than 30 years in the Coast Guard as an officer and rotary wing aviator.
He has a passion for helping people overcome personal challenges by overcoming fear, lack of confidence, and low self-esteem. His motto, “You Can Fly Higher Than You Ever Dreamed Possible,” is a testament to his belief and experience as a Coast Guard Aviator and motivator of people that with the right attitude and training you can achieve anything you set your mind to accomplish. As a speaker, trainer, coach and consultant, he works with organizations on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategy, Leadership and Personal & Professional Development skills; a trade that he has successfully linked to his studies of the subconscious mind and the latest in neuro-science.

As a Captain in the Coast Guard, William has led teams of up to 1,400 personnel, that were geographically dispersed across the country, flown more than 3,300 flight hours as a rescue helicopter pilot conducting rescues at sea saving 20 lives and assisting the lives of 200 others. Lastly, he directed the Coast Guard’s campaign against sexual assault successfully reducing assaults against women by 33% over a two-year period.
Today, William uses his oratory gifts and leadership skills from speaker’s platforms across the country as Maryland’s #1 Success Strategist to uplift and empower individuals and organizations to achieve their maximum potential.
